Sponsorship
Until
recently my husband and I have financed all the costs of my equestrian
pursuits but in order for me to continue at this level it is now
necessary for me to seek sponsorship.
This will enable me to pass on
my wealth of knowledge in riding and training horses for riders with
disabilities.
We
have been quite successful in this. After a very worrying time, when
it appeared that lack of funds would force me to give up
riding, I received a large donation, with no strings attached, from
a major charitable foundation. Together with other donations, this
has enabled me to keep going at least till the Autumn. In the longer
term, my husband and I are setting up our own charity, which we are
calling TRADISSAR (TRAining the DIsabled
in Side-SAddle
Riding). We have recruited five well-qualified trustees, and hope to
pass the completed
papers to the Charity Commission within the next few days. It is very
much easier for a registered charity to raise money than it is for
an individual, and I hope that, once Tradissar is operating, my finances
will be reasonably secure. However, all this will take a good deal
of time, and I shall be very grateful for any financial help to tide
me over until then.
